Personal Statement

I have sub-specialty training in infectious diseases and immunology, having obtained a master’s degree and post-graduate fellowship in immunology and infectious diseases (ID) respectively. I am currently undergoing a PhD degree in immunology. I also have leadership experience in research, and I have served as a co-investigator and principal investigator for number of clinical trials. I led the COVID-19 response team in my hospital, during which time we were involved in several national and international research collaborations. I have been part of many collaborative research endeavors, both national and international. I am a co-investigator of the collaborative study between Northwestern University and College of Medicine, University of Lagos on the neurologic manifestations of Long COVID in Nigeria.
