Personal Statement

I am a well-trained nephrologist and researcher, who is very passionate about reducing the prevalence of kidney diseases as well as

improving the quality of life of those with chronic kidney disease.  My focus is on preventing kidney disease by

gaining insights into the etiological factors vis-à-vis the mechanism of kidney
damage and improving the treatment of patients with kidney disease.

My goal is to contribute to science through
inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary collaborations to reduce the
increasing prevalence of kidney disease, especially among the African
population; particularly sub-Saharan Africa and West Africa which has the
highest prevalence of chronic kidney disease in the world.
