Personal Statement

I am a senior Lecturer and a consultant Anaesthetist, with a special interest in Neuroanaesthesia and Orthopaedic anaesthesia with a
lean towards critical care. My interest is in the improvement of organizational operative structures for efficient and safe delivery of services for training and medical care. My work focuses on discovery of operational failures and remedy for a modern and scientific solution for improved learning and outcomes. With a desire to reducing length of hospital stay, reduced cancellation of
operations and efficient delivery of all services. My research interest has been in these areas focusing on outcomes in intensive care units of the Lagos university teaching hospital, manual in line stabilization in compromised cervical vertebral injuries, the use of WHO surgical safety protocols and simple assessment of nutrition in ICU. My goal is to provide and environment of efficient learning by medical students through timely exposure to multiple procedures and intervention necessary for a successful training at the University of Lagos.
