Personal Statement

I am a Board-certified Physician Anaesthetist (FWACS,FMCA) with focus on Perioperative Anaesthesia, Critical Care Anaesthesia,General Anaesthesia, and Anaesthesia Training. I obtained my undergraduatedegree from the University of Lagos in 1989, and I became a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons in October 2010. I have been involved in thetraining and development of Anaesthesia manpower in the West African subregion since 2012. Over the years.  I have supervised 15 dissertations of resident trainees towards the award of Fellowship certification of the Faculty of Anaesthesia, of the National Postgraduate Medical College, and West African College of Surgeons. Furthermore, I have mentored numerous Anaesthesia residents and junior faculty members. I am actively involved in anaesthesia and critical care related research, and I have collaborated with both local and international colleagues.

This has enabled me to act as both primary hospital investigator and national representative. I have over 60 scientific publications to my credit.
